Swinging Blue Jeans and Swingers Orgies

The Swinging Blue Jeans were part of the 1960s British invasion of the American pop music scene, part of the so-called Beat.  The Swinging Blue Jeans was a Merseybeat, so called because these bands came from Liverpool in Merseyside, and from which the Beatles also came from.  Their best known single is “Hippy Hippy Shake,” which was a cover of an obscure 1950s rocker of which the Beatles performed much better.  Their contemporaries, the Beatles have gone on to music immortality while the Swinging Blue Jeans have segued into relative obscurity. There is something good to be said about their music, but their discography does not an enduring legacy leave, a far cry from the Beatles’ musical influence.

The Swinging Blue Jeans, in accordance with Merseybeat, were composed of four members playing two guitars, a bass guitar, and drums. The Swinging Blue Jeans had basically simple vocal harmonies and catchy tunes, with sappy lyrics influenced by rhythm and blues and soul music.  Other songs performed by the Swinging Blue Jeans include "It's too Late Now," "Think of Me," "Now I Must Go," "Good Golly Miss Molly," and "You’re No Good."  In this note, although the Swinging Blue Jeans are not as popular as the Beatles, it would be a disservice to their music to say “the Swinging Blue Jeans, no good.”
